TEACH: In 2Kings 6:8-23, the king of Aram (Syria) was at war with Israel and sought to capture Elisha, who was revealing the king’s plans to the king of Israel. The Aramean king sent a great army with horses and chariots to surround the city of Dothan, where Elisha was staying. When Elisha’s servant woke up and saw the vast army encircling the city, he was terrified and exclaimed about their impending doom to Elisha. However, Elisha reassured him, saying, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Elisha then prayed for the Lord to open his servant’s eyes.
