Freedom in Christ- 8   TITLE: The Perils of Turning from Grace! TEXT: Galatians 4:8-20 TONE: Warning TARGET: Believers TASK: To warn believers of the dangers of turning from grace. TEACH: Imagine a sturdy ship sailing through a foggy night on a vast ocean. The captain, experienced yet weary, relies heavily on the guiding light of a distant lighthouse to navigate safely to shore.     TITLE: From Bondage to Blessing! TEXT: Galatians 4:1--7 TONE: Encouragement TARGET: Believers TASK : To remind believers of their new identify and the blessing of calling on God as “Abba.” TEACH: Imagine a caterpillar, inching along a branch, bound by its own limitations. This stage is crucial; it involves a struggle as the caterpillar undergoes metamorphos...

TEACH: One of the greatest enemies of the Christian life is the religious life. Religion is the broad way that most people take, thinking that somehow, they can do something to please God. Christianity is the narrow way that helps us understand what God has done for us. Religion is made up of rules and regulations and rituals and will somehow outweigh our bad ones. Christianity is based on faith in a Person and on a relationship with that Person, the One who died and paid the full penalty for the sins of the whole world. Religion is what I do for God. Christianity is what God has already done for me. Religion is an effort. Christianity is a gift.   The reason it is so appealing to us is that we like feeling as if we are giving God a boost. We love tal...
