Abolition and the Kingdom of God

 TITLE: Abolition and the Kingdom of God 

TEXT: Matthew 13:31-33

TONE: Encouragement 

TARGET: Believers 

TASK: To encourage other believers to join the fight for abolition of abortion. 

TRUTH: The Kingdom was announced throughout the OT. As a matter, the Kingdom of God is one of the major themes of Biblical theology. Throughout the OT as the Kingdom was being announced God was giving His people domain in preparation for the true King. Of course, the Jews and Jesus’ own disciples had a tragic misunderstanding of the coming Kingdom, Jesus sought to current their misunderstanding about the Kingdom of God/Heaven. 

 

1.             It is a Present Reality 

2.             It is Growing Secretly 

3.             It is an Unstoppable Force 

 

`Thus says the LORD, “Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place. -Jeremiah 22:3

 

WHY WILL GOD USE THE PRINCIPLES OF ABOLITION? 

 

Answer: It reflects the heart of God concerning justice for pre-born. 

 

Isaiah 1:17

Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.

Amos 5:24 But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Proverbs 21:15

When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.

Isaiah 30:18

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.

Psalm 33:5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.

Isaiah 61:8 For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Psalm 106:3

Blessed are they who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times!

Luke 11:42

“But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.

Deuteronomy 27:19

“‘Cursed be anyone who perverts the justice due to the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Romans 13:4

For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.


The Lord spoke to Moses: “Say to the Israelites: Any Israelite or alien residing in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death; the people of the country are to stone him. I will turn against that man and cut him off from his people, because he gave his offspring to Molech, defiling my sanctuary and profaning my holy name. But if the people of the country look the other way when that man gives any of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death, then I will turn against that man and his family, and cut off from their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves with Molech. -Le 20:1–5.

 

WHY WILL GOD USE THE PRINCIPLES OF ABOLITION? 

ANSWER: It reflects the heart of God concerning His value and protection for every human life. 

God formed them: Psalm 139:13-16

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

 They are a gift from God: Psalm 127:3-5a

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!”

 

They have life and purpose: Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in your mother’s body I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart to serve me. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”

 God values lifeGenesis 9:6

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.”


 HOW WILL GOD WORK TO ABOLISH ABORTION? 

 ANSWER: Through His church. 

 

WILL YOU JOIN IN THE FIGHT BY ADVOCATING FOR THE PRE-BORN?

We must call on our state and federal legislators to uphold biblical and stop the whole sale slaughter of innocent children. 

 

1.             Rival for our affections. 

2.             Refusal in our commitments.

3.             Retreat on the journey. 

 

Will you move from pro-life pragmatism to biblical abolition today? Will you fight with us for equal protection for every child born or reborn. 

 

Come join with us as God uses Abolition as a means in His Kingdom to grind away at the evils of abortion.
